Th e M a ryl a nd G uid e • 4- 1 7 - 25 The Great Delaware Kite Festival, co-sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation takes place at Cape Henlopen State Park on Good Friday. This year, the festival is celebrating its 57th Anniversary. The Easter Bunny’s appearance is a longtime feature of the event that will continue again this year. The Easter Egg Hunt will kick o the event at 11 a.m, and is sponsored by County Bank. The Easter Egg Hunt will be limited to children up to the age of 12. Kite competition registration begins at 10 a.m. with ample opportunity for kite competitors to practice in the field adjacent to the competition area. All of the activities are free, including the Easter Egg Hunt. The Bunny Bonanza hops o at 10:30am with candy filled eggs, bunny mask craft, egg painting, mini-tennis with Pat Breen,”guess the jellies in the fish” contest featuring a Kids Ketch Easter Fasion Promenade. In Full Fathom Five Emily sings and plays, talks about the history and development of the pieces, and interacts with the audience in a manner that one critic referred to as “simply lovely.” This piece is both a labor of love and a remarkable artistic journey based on Emily’s experiences working with Delaware Shakespeare, Walnut Street Theatre, EgoPo Classic Theatre, and Revolution Shakespeare companies.
